Dr. Paul McConnellPaul graduated from Marquette University School of Dentistry in June 2008 and entered directly into active duty with the United States Army in August of 2008. He completed one deployment in Iraq from 2009 to 2010 as a dentist serving the needs of approximately 22,000 soldiers, Iraqi nationals, and civilian contractors. He achieved additional training and experience in exodontia through an intensive 16 week oral surgery course at Fort Leonard Wood. His active duty service obligation was fulfilled in August 2012. During his active duty time, he was able to work privately in both Texas and Indiana to a limited extent during his off-time. His experiences closely mirrored Nissa's in the corporate clinic setting, and together they have made a commitment to the patients and community to improve oral health and the dental experience while providing an alternative to impersonal and financially driven corporate dental chains.Dr. Nissa McConnellNissa graduated from Marquette University School of Dentistry in May 2007 and attended an Advanced Education in General Dentistry program for 1 year from June 2007 to June 2008 at Marquette University School of Dentistry. She entered active duty as a General Dentist with the United States Army in October of 2008. Her service obligation ended on August 11, 2010. Since this time, she has worked as an employee and contractor for corporate dental operations in Texas and Indiana. As an employee/contractor dentist for large corporations, she saw practices and policies that conflicted with her personal philosophies on patient treatment and care. Within the Evansville area, few dental providers other than these large corporate franchises accept insurances or Medicaid. She strongly believes that these patients deserve alternative providers and that Heritage Family Dental could fill that community void.
